I have owned the Marshall JCM 2000 100wt head for about two years now. It is the best amp I have ever bought or owned. It is more versatile than any other previous Marshall and has its own unique sound. It has two channels with two modes each. This allows for sounds ranging from AC/DC, Def Leppard, to full on Pantera/Metallica tones. The clean channel can be overdriven in the JCM 45 mode to produce a great blues channel, the reverb is seperate for both channels, allowing strong reverb for the clean/blues side and light for the distortion settings. In order to get the most out of this amp, you'll want to induce the bass-boost feature. This will cause a heavy bass overtone which will require you to turn down the eq bass and use pickups w/o a lot of low-end power. Believe me, for under a grand, you can't beat this head, no matter what kind of tunes you play.
